Why Some Positive Affirmations Work – and Others Don’t

Firstly – What Is A Positive Affirmation? By definition, a positive affirmation is a positive statement repeated time and time again either verbally, mentally — or written down.

The words of the positive affirmation statement – in themselves – when spoken, thought of, or written *without* a pictorial (visualized in your minds eye) or emotional connection — make a very weak affirmation (unlikely to get you the result you’re after). Positive affirmations, when worded correctly — and when emotionally charged – are able to tap into the unlimited creative power of your subconscious mind, and manifest your desires. All affirmations are not created equal. Some are, of course, better than others. There are *power positive affirmations* that have been proven again and again to work – and I’ll reveal some of them to you in a moment. When you examine the structure of these power affirmations, you too, can learn how to create your own powerful positive affirmations for your own specific purposes. Consider the following: “I am what I choose to be.” “All my needs are met instantaneously.” “I love and accept myself exactly as I am.” “_____________ comes to me easily and effortlessly.” (Fill in the blank with what you desire.) “I am now perfectly healthy in body, mind and spirit.” “I now create my wonderful, ideal life.” What do the power affirmations above, have in common? Firstly, they’re all stated in the present tense. An affirmation is more effective when stated in the present tense. For example; “I now have a wonderful job.” Avoid affirming something in the future tense, e.g. “I am going to have a wonderful job” or the results will always be waiting to happen. Secondly, they all express a positive affirmation statement. Affirmations must be stated in the most positive terms possible. Avoid negative statements. Affirm what you do want, rather than what you don’t want. For example: “I am no longer sick.” This is a negative statement. Instead, affirm: “I am now perfectly healthy in body, mind and spirit.” This positive affirmation statement is much more powerful as it is positive and reinforces your desired goal. By expressing your affirmation using a positive statement you avoid confusing your subconscious mind with the mention of the undesirable condition. Thirdly, they’re all short and specific. Short positive affirmations are easy to say, and have a far greater impact at the subconscious level than those which are long and wordy. Keeping them specific and to the point adds power as the idea is uncluttered by extraneous elements. Now, the mechanics that make positive affirmations powerful are: * Repetition The importance of repetition cannot be overemphasized here. It imprints the affirmation into your subconscious mind. * Emotions Get involved and be passionate. Use your emotions. Think very carefully about the meaning of the words as you repeat them rather than just writing, typing or saying them for the sake of it. * Persistence Practicing positive affirmations with persistence achieves results much sooner than practicing them periodically. Successive sessions will have a compounding effect. * Belief This is where a lot of people often get confused when beginning to practice positive affirmations. It’s important to realise here that you don’t necessarily have to believe your affirmation initially, in order for it to work. Belief will grow with your forthcoming successes. What you do need is the ability to *feel* what it would be like when the desire you’re affirming is fulfilled, or your need met. Every time that you have a need — and that need is met — a certain “feeling” is produced in you. You need to evoke that same feeling when you state your positive affirmation. In other words, you need to feel with every fiber of your being that what you desire has already happened. Without this feeling, your positive affirmation is powerless. * Impress Yourself Personalize your positive affirmations. They must *resonate* with you — feel right for you. The stronger your connection with the affirmation, the deeper the impression it makes on your mind, and the sooner you will experience positive results. So there you have it – the simple formula for creating affirmations that work. Based on the above, you can easily create your own affirmations to manifest any desire or need you have in life. TIP: Although the practice of positive affirmations is easy, some people find it challenging to repeat the affirmations continuously while maintaining the highly charged emotional state necessary in making affirmations work. What You Don’t Know About Electrical Appliances & Your Health

We live in affluent times. We think nothing of using a hairdryer to dry our hair, putting the washing in a machine to clean it, having a television set in our bedrooms and having a clock beside our beds, set to bring us our favorite radio station as we wake. What if you were getting more than you thought with your electric appliances?

Tips For Detecting And Reducing The Harmful Effects Of EMFs In Your Life
1. You can detect the presence of strong fields with a small compass. When you move towards an electromagnetic field the needle will turn to realign with the new magnetic field, swinging as you move over it. Try it on your television or computer monitor.
2. Remove all plug-in clocks, television, answering machines, and electric blankets from your bedroom. If you cannot do this, move these things at least eight to twelve feet away from where you sleep, or unplug them while you sleep.
3. Look for any cables that run under your bed or close to your head. Where possible reposition the cables, keeping them as far from your bed as possible. Consider moving the bed to another part of the room if necessary.
4. Take note of appliances on shared walls with the bedroom. EMFs will transmit through walls. Check the distance between these appliances and where you lie in bed. If this applies to you, check for anxiety, insomnia, or any unusual types of illness.
5. Where possible unplug a device – this will disconnect the transformer and will no longer create an EMF.
6. Reduce your exposure by increasing the distance between you and your electrical appliances. Sit or lie at least 10 feet from your television set, and move your computer at least 2 feet away from your keyboard if possible. A peace lily, or spider plant grown near electrical objects will absorb some EMFs.
It is no longer enough to improve the purely Feng Shui aspects of your home and bedroom. To ensure good health you also need to be assessing levels of EMFs now.

1 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup sugarFinely grate 1 tablespoon of the lemon rind and put into a large mixing bowl. Squeeze lemons for 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice. Add juice to the bowl with the grated rind. Add the whipping cream and the sugar to the bowl.Using electric mixer, beat on high speed until soft peaks (tips fold over) form when
the beaters are lifted. Transfer from the bowl to an air-tight freeze-proof container.Freeze ice cream for at least a couple of hours or until firm. Garnish with thin strips of the lemon rind, if desired.VANILLA ICE CREAM4 cups whipping cream
2 cups half-and-half cream
2 cups whole milk
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla flavoringHeat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat just until it bubbles around the edges. Remove from the heat and add the sugar, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved. Put in refrigerator to chill for at least a half hour.Remove the chilled sugar/milk mixture from the refrigerator and add the whipping cream, half-and-half cream and vanilla flavoring. 4-oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup thawed whipped topping

1 cup very well drained maraschino cherries
1 cup firm banana slicesMix the cream cheese and powdered sugar in a large bowl until well blended. Fold in the whipped topping. Spread over the bottom of the graham cracker crust and place in refrigerator.Mix the gelatin, pudding mix, and water in a medium saucepan until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture just starts to boil. Remove from the heat. Allow to cool for 5 minutes. Stir in the bananas and cherries. If you make $5,000 now and you aim to make $6,000, well that’s nothing much to celebrate here, is there.

The most important you must do from the very beginning is to have the INTENTION to achieve your goal.

Then follow through to make it happen because if you don’t set the intention, you will never do anything about it.

That sounds simple enough but what happens if you DID have the intention and took action and yet you still can’t achieve your goal?

Ponder upon this…

Does success comes immediately? For some people it does and that’s fantastic for them.

However, for most, success doesn’t come in a week or a month. You have to continuously practice what you know about success and one day, results will start coming in. When you have that One Day Success, keep riding on that. Once they have “compounded”, you will be successful.

There are definitely going to be obstacles in your path… plenty of them. And get this — everybody goes through the same thing.

That’s why most people are unable to achieve success! When they don’t see result, they thought that it’s over but missed out knowing that the ‘compound effect’ hasn’t even started yet. A lot of people give up or say that their efforts are not working when they don’t see results. That’s a waste.

Try to understand this clearly — If you don’t take the first step TODAY and follow through, nothing will happen in 6 months or a year down the road. Absolutely nothing.

But if you start doing something NOW, you can start seeing results in the future and opportunity starts to present itself. When you take action, magical things happen; you’re making opportunities available for you instead of waiting for it to come.

So how much do you want to make next month? An additional $10,000? If you set a strong intention that you really want this to happen, you will follow through to make sure that it happens. Maybe not in 30 days, maybe in 60 days? But hey, if you don’t do it now, nothing will happen at all.

Do you remember the time when you first learned to drive a car?

You were totally lost when you first got behind the wheel. Maybe you still can’t get it right at the second try either. But did you give up? You didn’t, because you know that you will be able to overcome it and drive your car.

That’s why you’re able to drive your car today.

This is just a simple example but the point is made clearly – YOU DON’T NEED TO KNOW THE HOW RIGHT NOW, BUT YOU NEED TO KNOW YOUR INTENTION AND BELIEVE YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT.

Think about your childhood when you first learned to crawl or learn English? Did you give up?

Did you say that English is too hard for you to understand so you’re not going to learn it and you’ll be fine? Of course not.

You’ve learned and that’s why you can speak English now. That’s why you are able to communicate in whatever language that you use right now.

You did not give up. You followed through with it. You had the strong intention to be able to speak English. You made sure that there’s no way out or second option that allows you to live without learning this.

But when when it has to do with achieving success and creating wealth, people don’t perservere like when they were learning to drive a car or learn another language.

Your mind work in ways that you cannot understand but it’ll lead you to get what you want. So if you can focus on the things that you want to achieve, the kind of success that you want to have, you will follow through and experience success itself.

What is Good Teaching

All students must have  had hundreds of teachers in their lifetimes. A very few of these teachers they would remember as being exceptionally good. What are the qualities that combine to create an excellent, memorable teacher? Why do some teachers inspire students to work three times harder than they normally would, while others inspire students to avoid their class? Why do students learn more from some teachers than others?

 Here I have  focused on the four essential qualities that distinguish exceptional teachers:

• Knowledge,
• Communication skills,
• Interest, and
• Respect for students.

 

An Experiment

Here’s an experiment I had done in one of my  earlier assignments. The results may surprise you. Go into one of the classes you are teaching and have your students take out a sheet of paper. Ask them to list for you the qualities they feel are important in a good teacher. Ask them to identify the qualities they admire in the best teachers they have had. Then give the students enough time to think about it and write something down. Five minutes is good, but ten might be better. Let them answer the questions anonymously if they desire.

What you will get if you combine all of the responses is a fascinating collage of ideas. I have found that most of the responses fall into two specific categories:

1) a set of “core qualities” that students recognize in good teachers, and

 2) a set of “specific skills” that are developed by good teachers.

“Core qualities” are the essential characteristics needed to be a good teacher. I would like to concentrate on these core qualities in this article as under.

1. Knowledge

 Students have consistently and clearly targeted as the number one quality of a good teacher exactly what you would expect: knowledge of the subject. A good teacher is willing to expend the effort needed to find innovative and creative ways to make complicated ideas understandable to their students, and to fit new ideas into the context available to the student. A good teacher can explain complicated material in a way that students can understand and use.

There is a saying, “Give me a fish and I eat for a day, teach me to fish and I eat for a lifetime.” This is the philosophy of a good teacher. Give your students an answer and they can solve one problem, but show students the techniques needed to find the answer for themselves and they can become self-sufficient in the field. Students need to be shown how to apply the new techniques you teach to problem solving.

 

3. Interest

A good teacher starts with a firm knowledge of the subject, and builds on that with a clarity and understanding designed to help students master the material. The best teachers then go one step further. Because good teachers are interested in the material being taught, they make the class interesting and relevant to the students. Knowledge is worthless unless it is delivered to the students in a form they can understand. But the effort expended making the material understandable is wasted if the students are disinterested  when it is delivered, or if the students can see no point in learning the material.

Good teachers recognise this, and work hard to make their material relevant. They show students how the material will apply to their lives and their careers. Bad teachers make material “relevant” by threatening students with failure on a test. Good teachers go far beyond this: they make students want to learn the material by making it interesting.

You read and write and create to build an exciting and interesting class every day. The only thing that would drive you to do that is a concern and respect for the students in your classroom.
