Horses the regal animals

Anybody amongst us will agree to the fact that horses are one of the most magnificent animals on the earth. You will find the mention of horses in almost all mythological archives you will leaf through. There was a time when horses were the only mode of transportation. The bond of man and horses is almost is very ancient. It is believed that the mention of horses is found as early as 30,000 BC. Before that horses were wild animals and hunted for meat. It is still a disputable how horses were domesticated. Recent discoveries on Botai culture suggest that Botai culture settlements in the Aqmola Province of Kazakhstan are the location of the earliest domestication of the horse. However, an increasing amount of evidence supports the hypothesis that horses were domesticated in the Eurasian Steppes (Ukraine) approximately 4000-3500 BCE.

Imagine a white horse with its long mane running towards you. The mere visualization makes you think about owning a horse. There are many different breeds of horses though and each one is bred for a particular kind of tasks. Apart from breeds, horses are categorized by their temperament. The three categories are:

• Warm blood

• Hot blood

Although the word thoroughbred is sometimes used to refer to any breed of purebred horse, it technically refers only to the Thoroughbred breed. Thoroughbreds are considered a “hot-blooded” horse, known for their agility, speed and spirit.”
