Gifts of Distinction

You are going to your niece’s college graduation. She is receiving her Master’s degree and you want to get her a gift that she will remember, and that she will remember who it was from. We all think that this is a hard gift to find, but the truth be told it isn’t. The first thing to do is to think of a gift that you will personalize, maybe a picture frame that signifies the occasion, or something engraved with the date and occasion on it. These kinds of gifts are the ones that count, yes, the ones with meaning. The gifts that say I thought about this occasion and what it means to you. In this case I decided on a personalized picture frame for her. On it I had inscribed her first and last name with her nickname in the middle, another great way to personalize it. Next line in smaller type was the date of the occasion, and of course the third line which took up the entire bottom of the frame was the word “Masters”. She just loved it and it didn’t take me forever to come up with the idea.My wife, on the other hand, makes afghan’s for our family and friends for their special occasions. These are so special to the recipient that words cannot say how they feel; however, I don’t know how to crochet or knit, so this is out of the case for me, but I still want them to be speechless. When she can’t crochet an afghan in time then I put my thinking cap on and decide on a personalized gift for that person. Keep in mind that this is not as difficult as you would think. Think about the person and the occasion, and then think about something special that you know about them, or a significant time that you had with them, let’s face it, you know them so this will be easy for you to do. Now think about the gift that would be appropriate, not something generic, something special, something personalized. You are getting married and you need gifts for your attendants, well this is easy. For the guys you decide on money clips and for the girls some nice pendant necklaces, all of course which you have engraved with their name and the date of the wedding. Let’s say that the girls in the wedding party are you crazy friends from college, how about some pink flasks as a crazy gift? Or camouflage for the guys? No matter what you choose you are pretty much guaranteed a success with your gift when it is personalized.
