No Chances Of Committing Financial Aid Frauds Now

Being living in a digital era students need to be extra vigilant before even thinking about committing any kind of financial aid fraud since it gets unveiled quite quickly now. Over the years the government has tried to ensure the financial assistance is only availed by the students who are really worth it in every respect. According to the Director of Financial Aid at Parkland College, Tim Wendt, long gone are the days when students could commit any sort of financial fraud since now the government both the federal as well as the state government make sure all the higher education institutes evaluate the students study progress.Earlier on students could manage to do fraud with the financial aid they used to get. Basically the students can only commit such financial aid frauds when they are availing scholarships or grants since they know the amount need not be paid so what they usually used to do was they skip classes for which the aid money was provided primarily. However, reportedly now it has become quite difficult to do this owing to the presence of so many rules and regulations. For instance, in case a student attends the school for 2 weeks, the aid amount he/she will get will also be equivalent to that period only, which means the money will be reduced to a great extent.Other than this, the students need to ensure course completion ratio is not disturbed. For availing the financial aid, the aspirants need to attend minimum 67% of the total classes with passing score. Plus you need to have a minimum C grade after completing 60 credit hours to make sure you get the aid money. In case you somehow do not fulfill these requirements you will be required to pay for your college fees on your own till you make amends and finally meet the criteria set.Another important thing is to provide authentic information while filling out the FAFSA form to apply for financial aid. In case you try to cheat, rest assured you will get caught and if you get caught you will have to spend some time behind the bars or could be fined up to even $10,000. To ensure fair play, government evaluates and verifies around 30 to 40 percent of the applicants to see if the aspirants are really deserving for financial aid or not. Reportedly, in the upcoming years this verification process will extend to every single applicant to absolutely remove any chances of providing aid money to cheaters and fraudulent students.Due to all the aforementioned steps taken, financial aid frauds have become quite difficult. However, there are still some misguided souls out there who get to take advantage of the aid money for other purposes than education which is absolutely not right since it is only creating even more troubles for the deserving and needy students.
